Quench Water Experts take pride in our ability to deliver great-tasting water to the masses from our bottleless water coolers. Yet, to some, great-tasting water sounds like an oxymoron. H2O is H2O, right? In fact, water is famous for being rather plain and bland. However, if you stop to smell the roses (or in this case, taste the water) you will realize that most water has an undeniable flavor that tends to fluctuate from place to place.

The taste of water is affected by the total dissolved solids (TDS) within the water. TDS represents the combined total of all organic and inorganic substances found in drinking water. The total dissolved solids present in water is one of the leading causes of particles and sediments in drinking water, which give water its color, odor, and flavor, and can be a general indicator of water quality.[1] Higher TDS water has a prominent “mouthfeel,” as water connoisseurs would say. Lower TDS water has virtually no taste and expresses a lighter mouthfeel.

There are many factors that contribute to the number of dissolved substances in TDS water, including geology and climate. On one end of the spectrum, we have distilled water, which is a lower TDS water with a TDS of 0.5 parts per million (ppm). On the other end of the spectrum, you have the ocean, which is a higher TDS water and contains approximately 30,000 ppm of TDS. Regular tap water falls somewhere in the middle with a TDS of about 350 ppm.

Our bodies crave alkaline water, which is water with a blend of minerals often found in tap water like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and silica. “When water is pure, don’t drink it,” explains Martin Riese, America’s only certified water sommelier featured in the Netflix Original Series Down to Earth with Zac Efron. According to Riese, distilled water or pure water pulls healthy minerals from our bodies, draining us of important nutrients we need to thrive. However, tap water can contain other chemicals and contaminants such as chlorine and lead. So, how do you get clean water that is also healthy for your body and tastes great?

If the idea of sourcing the best-tasting and healthiest water is not your top priority, don’t worry – your Quench Water Experts are here to help. We have local water experts in every market we serve that can recommend the best water filtration and bottleless water cooler for your individual business.

Quench’s filtered water dispensers not only remove contaminants that are dangerous for your health, but they also infuse just the right amount of healthy, great-tasting alkaline water to leave your body feeling fresh and rejuvenated. When you rent a bottleless water cooler from Quench, you’re getting clean drinking water thanks to our full suite of advanced filtration and purification technologies that remove sediment, reduce chemical contaminants, and get rid of off-tastes and odors.

Our NSF certified water filters act as a miniature water purification plant for your office. Through a reverse osmosis (RO) filtration system, our filtered water dispensers remove 99.9% of all contaminants and sediments in drinking water. Our filtered water dispensers then add back a delicious cocktail of calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, and other minerals that create an amazingly crisp alkaline water. Not only do the added minerals make the water taste better, but studies suggest that drinking alkaline water allows the body to absorb water more readily and hydrate faster.
